COMMUNITY GIVING

Putting last yearʼs fundraising efforts to excellent use, in May 2015 the OSC awarded more than $60,000 in academic scholarships and community enrichment grants to support service members and their families!

To celebrate, a reception was held at the Ranch House. It was generously hosted by 11th Marines, and featured light hors d'oeuvres as well as special tours of the Ranch House. The charming company and tasty treats couldn't outshine the true highlights of the occasion- the talented individuals and charitable organizations. It was a wonderful opportunity to spotlight those special people that contribute to our Camp Pendleton community. Twenty local groups and organizations were recognized this year with Community Enrichment Grants, including Big Brothers & Big Sisters of San Diego County, Camp Pendleton ASYMCA, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, Ivey Ranch Park Association, and REINS Therapy Riding Program. Additionally, a number of both high school and undergraduate students received academic scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year. Each awarded student is the dependent of an active-duty U.S.military service person stationed on Camp Pendleton or of a retiree living locally. The OSC is honored to have awarded funds to these fine individuals, and organizations.

Charitable giving is a cornerstone of who we are, and of what we do together. We hope you'll be an active participant this year as we gather volunteers and raise funds, working to give generously to the deserving people and groups around and among us. The Officers’ Spouses Club of Camp Pendleton (OSCCP) Scholarship Program for 2016 will cover the academic year of 2016-2017. The number and amount of scholarships awarded is based on funds allocated by the OSCCP Board through income generated during the OSC year (June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2016).

Individuals whose sponsors are active duty members of the United States Marine Corps, Navy, (or any of the sister services) currently stationed aboard Camp Pendleton may submit an application. The sponsor may be an officer or enlisted. If the applicant’s sponsor is a retiree, the retiree must have been honorably retired from the United States Navy or the United States Marine Corps by the time the scholarship application is submitted. Individuals whose United States Navy or United States Marine Corps sponsor is deceased may also apply. For all applicants, both the sponsor (active duty or retired) and applicant (active duty, retired, or deceased) must live within a 50-mile radius of Camp Pendleton.
